Afternoon bee activity 11 May 2011
Well, I wondered why the bees seemed to be more active at lunchtime. At first I thought they were up to something. Then I realised that they seemed to be doing training flights. Now, apparently this may be the nursery bees spreading their wings, stretching their legs and relieving themselves during the day. Well, there you go.
Interestingly my nucleus bees and the swarm bees do this busily, but the less well bees are still quiet.
This photo was my hives at lunchtime today – along with the workmate to make placing brood boxes and supers out of the way easier without bending.
